Words that I could just
    begin to comprehend,
"You shall no more cast nets for fish,
    but fish for men."
Could it be that I am chosen
    to deliver His appeal?
"Follow Me and learn
    the Kingdom of the Lord is very near."

I recall my first encounter
    with the Sage
At my mother's house,
    as the life drained from her face.
In His eyes I saw the power
    to rebuke her fever.
My surprise when she arose
    and went to make us dinner.

Who is He who with one word
    subdues the stormy sky,
Heals the sick, revives the dead,
    and opens blinded eye?
Speaks with such authority,
    no voice of man, but from the mouth of God.

Drawing multitudes with riddles
    and with rhymes.
In His presence there was hope
    and there was life.
Chains were broken, lives made whole,
    and good news preached to every man.
How can wonders such as these
    be the works of a carpenter's hand?

Oh, the wonders I have witnessed.
Oh, the blunders. How could I have
    missed this?
Mixing justice with compassion,
Feeding thousands with a young boy's ration.
Spouting drivel of the need to die on Calvary.
I try to disagree, and He yells,
    "Satan, get behind me!"
I want to build Him a shrine, but he stoops
    to wash my feet.
I just don't understand what it is He sees in me.

How can I go with the One
    who walks the road to Heaven?
"Tell me, Simon,
    how do you give answer to this question?"

No Elijah, nor the prophet,
    He could only be the Son of God.

Revelation from the Father,
    not through flesh and blood.
Our Redeemer, God is with us,
    Jesus Christ, the only Son of God.
